Sona Anardana Kutta is obtained from Pomegranate seeds which are angular. It is widely cultivated in Iran, Afghanistan & Baluchistan. In India it is grown in large scale in the states of Rajasthan, Gujarat and Maharashtra, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh. It is best cultivated in places having hot dry summer with proper irrigation. Its fruit juice is cooling and refrigerant. Its rind is useful in chronic dystentery and diarrhea.
